Comic Review: Lucifer #5

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16163″ img_size=”400×611″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]We have an incredibly dark and demonic tale in Lucifer #5, but would you have expected anything less? We are brought to the story of a man, Jack; who has died on a cold night and looks to be brought into heaven. The only problem is, Jack is not a good person and therefore not welcomed into the pearly gates. His bigger problem? Hell doesn’t want him either – so what’s a man to do who is unfavorable to both the angels and the devil.

Jack spends some time in the darkness, but is able to find his way out of the soundless, voiceless vortex. Though to say that he is back among the land of the living wouldn’t be entirely true either. It’s a twisted, grim tale for the remaining of Lucifer #5 and we understand more of why Jack wasn’t allowed into Heaven, as this drunk grifter is so much more than that – a cunning, sadistic man is more like it.

The imagery of this graphic novel is beautifully dark and desolate while painting familiar demonic figures that we have been familiar with in paintings and other mediums. The storyline plays off of Christian mythology while not feeling like an overly heavy religious tale. Overall, I would say that you should pick up this next issue is Lucifer to really sate the devious desires you have.[/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=”16157,16158,16159,16160,16161,16162″ img_size=”400×611″ speed=”3000″ autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
