Comics Review: Looney Tunes #247

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14470″ img_size=”400×622″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]As soon as I saw the words “Looney Tunes”, I knew I had to grab this issue. As I saw the cover being Marvin the Martian, I was immediately transported to my childhood days of sitting with my grandfather and watching Looney Tunes. What a beloved time and although since the classical age of this well-known series there have been new adaptations with updated illustration and different voice actors, reading this comic book brought me back to such episodes that you’d see on Boomerang.

What else can I say except that this issue was a fun and classic Marvin tale with him always trying to conquer the Earth. His plans are foiled by the introduction of a mysterious dog who challenges Marvin’s own K-9 in a contest of who’s better? While it’s very clear that this Earth-dwelling dog has some serious tricks up his sleeve, Marvin only views him really as a bother. It isn’t until the end that we see the dog’s true nature for being on that spaceship, but I certainly won’t ruin the fun for you.

The second half of this comic is again another classic, Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner. Fun fact (or I could be potentially ruining your childhood here), but coyotes are much faster than roadrunners in real life. Perhaps what was always holding Wile E. back was his own shortcomings? Either way, it’s a classic story between these two and just a fun comic to enjoy when you haven’t gotten the ability to watch the old cartoons.

This comic is definitely Tia approved and I would say do not wait, buy now!
