Comics Writer Scott Snyder Weighs In Joaquin Phoenix’s Makeup Test

With all the discussions, both positive and negative of Warner Bros. Pictures reveal of the first Joaquin Phoenix full makeup test as the Joker, popular Batman comic book writer Scott Snyder has voiced his opinion of the possible new look for the iconic Batman villain.

Snyder, who wrote Batman for 52 issues from 2011-2016, which was during DC Comics’ “New 52” era, was quite familiar with Joker. Along with artist Greg Capullo, Snyder’s run included stories that both defined the Joker and redefined his relationship to Batman. With his history with the character, it was only natural he had an opinion that he shared on Twitter.

Opinions have varied since the release with some embracing the originality while others having an issue with the “too much clown look.” What needs to be considered at this time is that this was a “test” and it might not or probably won’t be the final look. I give it this, it spoke Crazy to me.
