This information has not been confirmed but Bautista did have to pass on the role due to his work schedule. (Original Article Below)
You can’t see him. Alright, that was my playful attempt at making a WWE reference, but the real news here is that, apparently; John Cena is in talks to join James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad alongside Idris Elba and Margot Robbie. While we are unaware of what role he would be playing, it could very well make sense that the wrestler/actor would join such a huge venture considering his rise in movies in the past few years.
Jai Courtney assured fans he would be returning and while it was reported that Elba would be replacing Will Smith as Deadshot, it seems Elba is playing a different character in the film. If Cena joins, this would be his first superhero role, though; he was recently in the Transformers spin-off film Bumblebee, which was insanely popular and is giving birth to a slew of other sequels and spin-offs.
What do you think about Cena joining the DCEU?
