[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”22689″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]When the Fox/Disney deal closed, there were lots of questions about who might coming over from the previous Marvel franchises. It seems as of right now the only actor making the transition is Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. Fans wondered if Deadpool would even have a home at Disney because of the R rating his films have carried. During the deal both Iger and Feige indicated that Deadpool would have a future in the MCU.
A new report revealed today by MCU Cosmic from a “reliable source” (I know his reliable source so I can confirm this news is accurate) indicates Marvel and Disney are exploring multiple options for bringing the Merc with the Mouth into their Cinematic Universe.
One of those options includes introducing him in Spider-Man 3, of course we haven’t gotten past Far From Home yet but a third Spider-Man film with Tom Holland is almost a given.
Another option being floated is introducing Deadpool in a limited run Disney+ series. Now this idea here just doesn’t really make sense because it’s been mentioned several times that Disney+ would be family friendly material. Could this mean we see a PG-13 style Deadpool series? It’s possible but I don’t see this one happening.
The third option is just introducing him in Deadpool 3. I could see this being the most likely since Deadpool would want to most likely maintain its R rating and introducing Deadpool in a PG-13 Spider-Man film might not be a great mesh of characters. It really depends on Reynolds and if he would want to continue with the R rated films or perhaps Once Upon A Deadpool has softened him up on a PG-13 film and he would be fine going that route.
In the comics Deadpool and Spider-Man have several comics together and the two play nicely off each other. I think if Reynolds were to be ok with it, a Spider-Man/Deadpool team up film would be great. You could make it like a buddy cop type film. You have the good cop (Spider-Man) bad cop (Deadpool)routine going on through out the film. I think the interactions between the two would be hilarious.
Right now though these are just “ideas” Disney is tossing around and nothing has been confirmed at this time. Do you think it’s possible we see Deadpool before the X-Men or the Fantastic Four?
