By now, you probably have some idea of what’s going on with former film producer Harvey Weinstein. Originally charged, Weinstein was actually convicted for rape in the third degree and a criminal sex act. In wake of this conviction, New York City courthouse has made a thousand pages of documents public. And the information is pretty disturbing, so tread lightly.
Weinstein’s Email About Jennifer Aniston
In the court documents, it’s noted that Weinstein was contacted by a reporter in October 2017 from the National Enquirer. The magazine was planning to publish a story stating that Aniston claimed Weinstein had sexually assaulted her. In the response email, Weinstein wrote:
“Jen Aniston should be killed.”
It should be noted that Aniston’s representatives have denied that Aniston was ever touched by Weinstein.
The ‘Red Flag’ List
In another disturbing part of the document, a ‘red flag list’ is described as something Weinstein put together to document those who he suspected would talk to the media about his sexual behavior. Ben Affleck was on this list. Annabelle Sciorra, Rose McGowan, Zelda Perkins, Lysette Anthony, and Rowena Chiu were on the list. Megan Ellison and Jason Blum were there as well.
Reaching Out to Corporate Figureheads
Weinstein attempted to reach out to Mike Bloomberg, Jeff Bezos, Netflix’s Ted Sarandos, and Apple’s Toom Cook in 2017 for assistance. It had become obvious to Weinstein that Weinstein Company was about to fire him and he looked to these figureheads for support and intervention. In an email to Bezos, he wrote:
“There are many false allegations and over time, we’ll prove it, but right now, I’m the poster boy for bad behavior.”
Called Out By His Brother
There is also a document from Weinstein’s brother Bob, who wrote:
“U deserve a lifetime achievement award for the sheer savagery and immorality and inhumanness, for the acts u have perpetrated. Oh I forgot. They were all consensual. Then what are u in rehab for? Sex addiction. Don’t think so. You wouldn’t have harassment, assault and rape charges u have now received, from 82 women for active consensual sex.”
