CREEPSHOW, the anthology series based on the 1982 horror comedy classic, is still the most fun you’ll ever have being scared! A comic book comes to life in a series of vignettes, exploring terrors ranging from murder, creatures, monsters, and delusions to the supernatural and unexplainable. You never know what will be on the next page…

Video Quality
The third season of Creepshow comes to Blu-Ray with a dazzling 1080p presentation that shows the best of the format. The series is filled with unique environments and thoughtful cinematography that is presented with perfect clarity on this disc. Colors from the gore and costumes pop off the screen alongside the unique landscapes and filmmaking styles. Black levels are never an issue and retain detail in the shadows. Whether it be brightly lit scenes or darker, shadowy sequences, skin tones and facial details are rendered with a vengeance. Minute facial features are readily visible, such as the stomach-churning makeup work that lends itself to intricate texture. No instances of compression artifacts crept up during the viewing. This transfer delivers everything you could want it to and more.
Audio Quality
The Blu-Ray disc comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track that is very effective. The track does a fine job of making sure neither sound effects nor the score ever overpowers dialogue. The score brings a richness to the series that fills up the room on this track. There is some expressive ambient activity in the rear channels, especially during scenes when the narrative dictates it. The series leans heavily on dialogue, but there are some unsettling atmospheric effects and an enveloping score that will give your speakers something meaty to work with. Dialogue largely stays in front center channels and is reproduced clearly. The low end is not going to bring your house down, but it does every single thing it intends to do. Fans are in for a treat here. There are optional English SDH and Spanish subtitles provided.
Special Features
- Amazon’s Comic-Con@Home Panel Interview: A great 35-minute panel featuring showrunner Greg Nicotero, filmmaker Mattie Do, filmmaker Rusty Cundieff, actor Michael Rooker, and actor James Remar, moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s Clark Collis. In this piece, Nicotero discusses the process of coming back to production during the pandemic, the variety of stories they have in store for the third outing, and more while the other panelists discuss how they came to be involved with this season, what the franchise means to them and much more. Fans will really enjoy this.
- Behind-The-Scenes Raw Footage: A 38-minute look at the production of various moments throughout the season. You get to function as a bit of a fly-on-the-wall.
- Photo Galleries: There are various behind-the-scenes stills provided here.
Final Thoughts
Creepshow continues to play within the format which has kept it relevant, and this third outing sustains a strong batting average when it comes to the quality of individual episodes. There are some terrifically fun developments which allows the series to feel just as fresh and relevant as ever. RLJE Films has released a Blu-Ray featuring a terrific A/V presentation and a fine number of special features. If you are a fan of the series, this is worth adding to your collection. Recommended

Dillon is most comfortable sitting around in a theatre all day watching both big budget and independent movies.
