CW Orders ‘The Lost Boys’ Pilot Episode

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14073″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Many say the 80s might be the best decade ever. It gave us awesome music, television shows and movies. One of those movies is the cult classic vampire flick, The Lost Boys. In 1987 Joel Schumacher, yes the same man who gave us Batman and Robin, delivered one of the best films of all time. The film starred the Corey’s, Haim and Feldman, Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland and Jami Gertz.

If you haven’t seen this movie then please check it out when you have time, it’s worth a watch. Now there appears to be a TV series headed to the CW network. Deadline is reporting that CW has ordered a pilot episode of the series that apparently was talked about way back in 2016.

Some tidbits regarding the news

“The CW originally developed a series adaptation of the iconic 1987 Warner Bros horror comedy movie The Lost Boys with Rob Thomas writing during the 2016-17 development season. While the project didn’t go to pilot, the network brass remained very high on the title and had been looking to redevelop it. While Thomas has been busy with his Veronica Mars reboot for Hulu, a take by writer Heather Mitchell (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy) got everyone excited, and the new adaptation picked up steam this development season.”

Not sure we will see Jason Patric or Kiefer Sutherland coming through those doors any time soon but would be cool to have a cameo. Not sure the show can live up to the film but CW does have a way of engaging their audience and getting the most out of shows you might not expect to be very good. No doubt they are gonna soap opera it up for the ladies.

Here is a description of the show via CW

“Welcome to sunny seaside Santa Carla, home to a beautiful boardwalk, all the cotton candy you can eat…and a secret underworld of vampires.”

I could see this series being very Vampire Diaries like which seemed to be a hit with fans. I have not seen the series so I cannot judge but as a fan of the original Lost Boys, I am intrigued but this new show. Hopefully it does well enough to get a full season.

What do you think about this news? Have you seen the original movie? Are you excited to see a Lost Boys television series?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
