CW’s ‘Batwoman’ Adds Three New Cast Members

With production on CW’s Batwoman pilot set to begin in a couple of months, the casting seems to be gaining momentum as Deadline reports three new cast members have been added. Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, and Camrus Johnson have been cast in the Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane led series.

Deadline has managed to obtain just who these new cast members will be playing.

Tandy will play Sophie Moore. After graduating from military academy, Sophie rose through the ranks to become a high-level private security agent and one of Gotham’s staunchest protectors. Despite her bite and regimented outlook, Sophie has a soft side, illuminated by Kate Kane’s return.

Johnson will portray Luke Fox. A Dark Knight loyalist and son of Wayne’s R&D director Lucius Fox, Luke works to keep Wayne Tower secure in his boss’s absence. While Luke considers himself the guardian of all things Batman — specifically his symbol — he also recognizes the city’s need for a new hero.

I am very interested in Camrus’ character especially since his father was one of Batman’s most trusted allies and tech makers. Could this all lead to us possibly seeing Lucius or even Bruce down the road?

When it comes to Kang’s character Deadline says the following:

Kang is Mary Hamilton. Excitable, talkative, and an influencer-in-the-making, Mary is Kate Kane’s step-sister and polar opposite. But what Mary lacks in a filter, she makes up for with her compassion for Gotham’s underserved communities, proving she has more in common with Kate than she thinks.

Right now only a pilot has been ordered but all signs point to CW picking this up and moving forward with a full season order. Things could change for sure but I think fans want this series and Batwoman was one of the most hyped moments of the recent cross over event. Fans love the Bat-family and with Gotham coming to an end this show will hopefully fill some voids.
