CW’s Batwoman Will Take Place Before Elseworlds Crossover

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16099″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The Batwoman series is coming! After becoming a success in the CW’s crossover, Elseworlds; Ruby Rose’s lead series is being helmed by Greg Berlanti, who spoke at the INTV conference in Jerusalem, Israel. Here he spoke about the pilot episode, stating that it would be an “origin story that we set up predates the crossover; it’s a story prior to the crossover”. In the crossover, Bruce Wayne and Batman left Gotham three years prior without any explanation, leaving Batwoman with her hands full – dealing with a prison riot when we first meet her.

Berlanti also broke down the characters we should expect to see:

  • Rachel Skarsten plays the main villain Alice, who is a leader of a Lewis Carroll-inspired Wonderland Gang. Skarsten had previously played Black Canary on WB’s Birds of Prey.
  • Dougray Scott plays Batwoman’s father, who commands Gotham’s private security firm The Crows.
  • Elizabeth Anweis will play Catherine Hamilton-Kane, who is Kate Kane’s (Batwoman) stepmother.
  • Meagan Tandy will be Sophie Moore, who rose through the ranks to become a high-level private security agent. Her personality is softened by the return of Kane.
  • Camrus Johnson plays Luke Fox, son of Wayne’s R&D director Lucies Fox; he is a Batman loyalist.
