Star Wars fans were blown away when the image of Rey’s apparent turn to the Darkside was revealed in a released trailer for The Rise of Skywalker. She stood there in a dark robe, wielding a double blade red light saber and looking ominous. As much as fans liked the possibility, Daisy Ridley also relished the opportunity to explore her characters Darkside.
She explained this in an interview with Adoro Cinema:
It’s fun to play someone’s best version, and then the worst. It’s an amazing thing to do as an actress, but we can’t do it often. … I felt very good. That’s the most I can say, unfortunately.
Of course she was purposely vague as to not reveal the substance of the scene. Was it real? Was it a vision? As one might expect, we’ll have to wait for its December release to know.
