Daredevil’s Showrunner Erik Oleson Makes Deal With Amazon Prime

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”17516″ img_size=”800×450″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Joining Cheo Hodari Coker (Luke Cage’s showrunner), Daredevil’s showrunner Erik Oleson has signed a mid-seven-figure deal with Amazon Prime. This deal is a two-year contract between the showrunner and the giant streaming service, where Oleson will create, develop, and produce original series solely for Prime. According to sources, Netflix was trying to make a pact with Oleson, but…well…you canceled his show? Anyway, I digress.

Oleson spoke about the deal with Amazon:

“I want to tell the kind of stories that I love: stories that have great characters, thrilling concepts and epic backdrops, but are about something meaningful. Stories which allow an audience to think and feel rewarded for watching,” Oleson said Monday in a statement. “Amazon is a perfect home for these stories, and I’m psyched to work alongside the entire Amazon Studios team.”

Albert Cheng, the co-head of television at Amazon, commented on Oleson’s return, as the man had worked on Man in the High Castle previously:

“We’re happy to welcome Erik back to Amazon Studios. Erik knows how to build worlds that enthrall viewers, but that are grounded with real emotion and relationships. We’re very excited he’ll be re-joining our incredible team of producers and creators here at Amazon.”

So, Erik, I think we can all agree that now that you are with Amazon Prime and you will be creating amazing content, can we have former cast members of Daredevil on your shows?
