David Fincher’s Drama ‘Mank’ Adds Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Charles Dance, and Tom Pelphrey

David Fincher is working on a Citizen Kane drama that will be in black and white. The drama will be called Mank and will be about Herman Mankiewicz. Mankiewicz co-wrote Citizen Kane alongside Orson Welles. Mankiewicz had accused Welles of trying to push him out of the limelight and even, reportedly; tried to pay him off to not be given any credit.

Mank has added several names to its docket. Such as Gary Oldman, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, and Charles Dance. Joining them are Arliss Howard, Ferdinand Kingsley, Jamie McShane, Joseph Cross, Sam Troughton, Toby Leonard Moore, Tom Burke, Tom Pelphrey, and Tuppence Middleton. Mank is scheduled to start production in November.

Fincher has been wanting to get Mank out there since 1997, with his father having even produced a script.

So far we know that Seyfried will play Marion Davis, Collins will be Rita Alexander, who is Mankiewicz’s secretary, Burke will play Welles, and Pelphrey will portray Mankiewicz’s brother. Other than that, there are not any casting news.
