David Harbour On ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3: “We’re All A Little Bit Out of Our Comfort Zone.”

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”2821″ img_size=”970×545″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Stranger Things is one of Netflix’s best. Set in the 80s, we have talented young actors giving heart pounding performances and Wynonna Ryder showing up to every episode giving us her best. Also, after watching Stranger Things, you probably had a sudden urge to eat Eggos. Or maybe break into a store to steal a bunch of frozen waffles; you know, normal things. While we have to wait a little while longer than usual for the third installment of this paranormal, supernatural show, one of its stars, David Harbour spoke with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss the risks the next season takes.

“And in the new directions that we’re going, all of us are taking a lot of risks. We’re all a little bit out of our comfort zone.”

“I wish I could characterize the season, but to me it’s so big,” he said. “For example, did you find last season to be darker? There were certainly elements of it that were scary, but I thought there was also a lot of fun, a lot of joy and a lot of silliness, with Steve being a dad and the kids as Ghostbusters. Just taking my story, for example, it’s fun to see Hopper having adopted Eleven. She’s become legitimized in the society, in the world of Hawkins. And he’s a father now. He’s raising a teenage daughter, with all that that entails. So I think that can be pretty funny to see his inadequacies in all of this.”

Stranger Things definitely has lighthearted moments, after all, it’s a show where most of the cast are kids. We wouldn’t want anything too traumatizing. But, as the stakes raise and the characters dive deeper into the Upside Down world, it makes sense they’d take a riskier turn. Personally, I think things went pretty dark when Bob Newby, Joyce Byers’ new beau; met a grisly end when we all were rooting for him to make it out alive.

Stranger Things season 3 will return to Netflix in 2019!
