The character was popularly portrayed by Ron Perlman in Guillermo Del Toro’s films and it seems like Harbour is not going to disappoint. With Neil Marshall helming the reboot, the director promises a more hardened and gory take on the franchise, taking it back to its comic book roots. The film is R-rated and Marshall is not holding back, as he told Empire in their January 2019 issue.
“It was always a case of, ‘When in doubt, go back to the source material.’ Some of the stuff is pretty sick. More violent and more bloody. We weren’t making it with handcuffs on.”
Hellboy will be released in 2019 – what are your thoughts on what we’ve seen so far?
