[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”20930″ img_size=”411×632″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]DC Vertigo is officially releasing Six Days: The Incredible Story of D-Day’s Lost Chapter. On the eve of D-Day’s 75th anniversary, this story tells one of a heart-wrenching tale that is brought to us by writers Kevin Maurer and Robert Venditti, with illustrations done by Andrea Mutti. This story is a true one that tells of survival, loyalty, war, and triumph. It is a rare sight to see in comic books, history laid out so raw; which makes Six Days a special one.

On June 1944 during WWII, D-Day, 182 members of the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division parachuted into the French countryside, which is about eighteen miles southeast of the intended target. This is the worst mis-drop in the D-Day campaign, where a group of soldiers will find themselves deep into enemy territory, more so than anyone had ever intended. It’s a miracle that Graignes’ citizens opt to actually feed and shelter these soldiers, despite knowing the grave consequences that would result from their actions.

It’s during the next six days that this small group of Americans and French citizens must fight against a small German militia that makes their way through town, about 2,000 of them to be exact. The soldiers and civilians will fight to hold them back in this heart-pounding issue that tells a very dreadful tale of the real-life war in Europe.

You can catch Six Days: The Incredible Story of D-Day’s Lost Chapter on May 14th of this year, and any history buff and comic book reader should certainly grab their copy.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
