This will be the first of many hirings to come to bring the comic to the DC streaming audience. The project will be co-written by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman who will also serve as showrunners.
Swamp Thing, who was originally created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson in 1971. Swamp Thing follows CDC researcher Abby Arcane, who is sent to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus in her home town of Houma, Louisiana. It is there she meets scientist Alec Holland and just when their relationship seems to be building toward something, he is tragically taken from her. Soon, as more is discovered about the swamp and its resources, the area becomes a point of interest for those whose main goal is exploiting the swamp’s properties. It is while investigating these mysteries that Abby will discover that the swamp holds many secrets, and perhaps, Alec Holland is not gone after all.
