[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”13702″ img_size=”640×320″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Despite things being up in the air due to the Disney/Fox merger, Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick assure people that an X-Force film and Deadpool 3 will happen. Reese confirmed that Drew Goddard was working on the X-Force film and once that has come into play that a third Deadpool film will be on the table.
“According to the chronology that we’ve established, X-Force will be next, before Deadpool 3. It’s a bit of the “Iron Man 1, Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3″ model, in that sense. X-Force isn’t being written by us. It’s being written and directed by Drew Goddard, or at least that’s the plan right now. We’re not involved with that one. We do anticipate there will be a Deadpool 3 at some point, but it’s just a little premature because it will definitely take a backseat to X-Force for the time being.” Reese stated.
Wernick also commented on collaborating with actor Ryan Reynolds during all of this:
“We’re constantly in touch with Ryan (Reynolds), and we’re always throwing ideas back and forth via text and phone conversations. So, it’s always at the front of our minds. We’ll get there when the time is right, but as of right now, X-Force is next up.”
It’ll be interesting to see if these two films actually are made. It’s not the first time those working on projects decided to keep going despite what is happening behind closed doors and besides, Deadpool 2 was a success and we’ve all heard prior how actors like Josh Brolin were signed on for multiple projects.
