From the writer/direct Jeffrey Morris, Hildebrand will stand beside Mary-Louise Parker, Emile Hirsch, Lance Reddick, and Malcolm McDowell. Hildebrand will place Darcy Webb, a trained pilot.
The movie will center around three astronauts from a place called Colony One, which is a gigantic space vessel that is carrying approximately 20,000 passengers from a dying Earth. Colony One will travel to Alpha Centauri, the nearest star system. Taking place in the late 22nd century, the three will have to repair a system that has been designed to shield their new world – Proxima b – which, is also known as Persephone. Persephone is a lifeless world that is twice the size of Earth, with double its gravity. Persephone can barely support human life, but it’s what they will have to settle on when an attempt to colonize Mars went south a few decades earlier.
Webb will pilot the shuttlecraft and will go head to head with Park’s Tanya Baxter, both arguing over the trajectory of their mission.
Pixomondo Studios are co-producing this film with FutureDude and Evolutionary with Morris director and Anne Marie Gillen, John Adams, and Diane Shorthouse as producers. Morris stated:
“We’re super excited to share a fantastic, character-driven space adventure based on plausible science set on a real planet recently discovered by astronomers. My goal is to create a memorable and captivating journey that will thrill a diverse audience of filmgoers that expands beyond typical sci-fi fans.”
