Details About The Next Star Wars Saga Possibly Revealed

We might have our first details regarding the next era of Star Wars films. According to Jason Ward from Making Star Wars the new Star Wars Saga will be set during the High Republic Era this is what he had to say,

My informants recently told me that the Cassian and Obi-Wan Kenobi Dinsey+ shows are supposed to be coming to Pinewood since other studio spaces have recently become unavailable and the next Star Wars film is thought to be there as well. My sources also elaborated on what that film series will be.

Sources are saying the next Star Wars Saga is going to take place during an era called “The High Republic” era.  It sounds like the setting is 400 years before The Skywalker Saga. This new saga is set during a time that the Sith’s “Rule of Two” has been established by Darth Bane, and Yoda is a Jedi, but isn’t the old Jedi we know from the Skywalker era.

These new films will not make up a trilogy but rather a series of films which will be released in the same story era and interconnect. D.B Weiss and David Benioff were to make this series before moving onto a more lucrative deal. This method of storytelling was supposed to apply to the “A Star Wars Story” films, but they never got a chance to interconnect the two stories that they told with more material.

Because of the volume of Star Wars stories set during The High Republic era, it is difficult to say which emerging characters they are going to spotlight in these upcoming films. While the series will have Jedi, it will also have heroes who are not Jedi.

My Thoughts

Before I put out my thoughts about this news, let me remind you this is not confirmed by the studios or by anyone associated with Star Wars.

Now, If this is true I really hope that the first film of this series is what Kevin Fiege is supposed to be developing. This way “The High Republic” era will have a good foundation to move towards. Especially since Kevin Fiege is a huge Star Wars fan he might stay on the story team to help plan out a more cohesive story.

Now it is time to get the part that had me most excited!

It sounds like the setting is 400 years before The Skywalker Saga. This new saga is set during a time that the Sith’s “Rule of Two” has been established by Darth Bane, and Yoda is a Jedi.

If this is going to be 400 years before the Skywalker Saga, there is a lot of freedom Lucasfilm has, hell they can bring Darth Reaven if they wanted, Yes to all the hardcore fans Revan was before Bane, but because Revan is so far back in Star Wars lore, Legends, by the way, Star Wars can bring him or her if they want and make Revan canon. And seeing a younger Yoda in action would be incredible!
