‘Detective Pikachu’ Trailer Reveals A Popular Character

Detective Pikachu has gathered some hype since its first trailer release in November. With a live-action Pokémon film even I was skeptical on how the movie would look, and so far I am excited for May 10 to see Ryan Reynolds voice act Pikachu. During the second trailer, we saw more comedic interactions between Pikachu and Tim Goodman (role played by Justice Smith) and more information on the plot. Especially a interesting reveal of who could be the big bad villain in the film. The rest of the article are potential spoilers, so if you do not want to be spoiled leave this article now.

It is revealed from the poster and trailer that Mewtwo, a Legendary Psychic-type Pokémon will be in the film and the villain of the upcoming film. Early posters for the movies have had Easter eggs about Mewtwo, but a poster released today clearly shows Mewtwo standing on top of a building.

On the left side of the poster, when you zoom in you can see Mewtwo standing on top of the building underneath a crane.

There is a theory that during the trailer Mewtwo eyes were glowing purple so it’s possible that Mewtwo was controlling Charizard during that battle with Pikachu. If interested in seeing the recent trailer, the link will be below.

Detective Pikachu releases on May 10, 2019.
