[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16715″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Among the new characters who are joining American Gods’ second season, Devery Jacobs as Sam Black Crow is already highly looked forward to. The character is half-Cherokee and is a hitchhiking college student who will eventually cross paths with Ricky Whittle’s Shadow Moon. Devery Jacobs, who is of Kahnawake Mohawk descent; recently dove into how she approached playing this highly-anticipated character:

“While she’s sarcastic and opinionated, she’s also deeply curious about life,” she says, adding that this curiosity extends to Shadow, who she will meet this season.

Jacobs described Sam as a “fun, meddlesome character” whose beliefs are complex. Jacobs was a fan of the book and the show as well, always keeping an eye on casting for the series, which we now see is coming to fruition. On playing her character, she also added:

“I also love that our country’s first people are being represented in a show that is ultimately about immigrants who have come to America.”

American Gods is excited for us to meet Sam Black Crow and so are we! The STARZ series returns March 10th!
