Disney has won a bidding war that picked an untitled high concept pitch from John Whittington. Whittington is the scribe that is known for his work on several Lego films. This is a rare spectacle for Disney, which doesn’t always step into competitive spec projects. Nevertheless, producer John Davis will be joining with his Davis Entertainment partner John Fox.
There aren’t too many other details, but it’s a “high concept story” that is “set in the world of movies”. Disney beat out Warner Bros. for this live-action project.
As we find out more, we will certainly let you know. If Disney found it so intriguing that they would do something unprecedented as competing for the project, then it must be good.
