[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”6348″ img_size=”800×400″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded”][vc_column_text]While the talks about Guardians of the Galaxy’s director James Gunn’s firing from Disney seems to be settling down, Disney’s CEO Bob Iger has finally broken his silence when it comes to this situation. If everyone can remember, Gunn was let go from the franchise and studio due to some tweets he had made about a decade ago. Tweets he has apologized for, but the speculation is that due to his criticism of the US president that conservative accounts unearthed these tweets and made it more public. Disney, being a family-friendly studio, let Gunn go – causing an uproar. Not only has this decision put the third installment of GotG in hiatus, but has caused some actors like Dave Bautista to look for a way out of their contract.

Iger revealed that he wasn’t a part of the decision making, but supported the decision.

“I would say there is a blend of my helping to make the decision to my supporting the decisions that have been made,” Iger told THR. “Roseanne was completely unanimous. We discussed how it would be communicated and when because there were a number of entities that had to be properly filled in, but the decision was completely unanimous. The James Gunn decision was brought to me as a unanimous decision of a variety of executives at the studio, and I supported it.”

Iger added:

“I haven’t second-guessed their decision,” he said.
