Disney’s CEO Confirms Kevin Feige’s Plans for The X-Men

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”6329″ img_size=”800×400″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Bringing the X-Men into the MCU has been something that has been teased since the Marvel Cinematic Universe started ten years ago. It’s been strange to have Captain America not interact with Wolverine, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver not acknowledge they’re mutants or that Magneto is their father, and just in general, we’ve always felt something was lacking. With the deal between Disney and 21st Century Fox official, Disney’s CEO Bob Iger made sure to clear up a few things, along with alluding that Kevin Feige would be in a leadership position moving forward.

When asked if Feige would be overseeing the X-Men franchise, Iger responded:

“I think it only makes sense,” Iger said. “I want to be careful here because of what’s been communicated to the Fox folks, but I think they know. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn’t be two Marvels.”

He went on to add:

“Kevin’s got a lot of ideas. I’m not suggesting that’s one of them. But who knows?”

We agree. The split between the Avengers universe and X-Men have been a bit ridiculous, but I believe it’s something we’ve gotten used to. In recent years, even recently; people have been actually opposed to the combination, now that Fox has moved in the rated R route with Deadpool and Logan. There are those skeptical that a family-friendly studio like Disney won’t do films like Deadpool justice and we’ve seen what bumping movies like that down to PG-13 can do.

We’ll see how everything works going forward and it’s most likely we won’t see changes in 2019, but a mention or two about mutants and X-Men would be fun, yes?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
