Disney’s ‘Jungle Cruise’ Production Has Officially Begun

Walt Disney Studios has had quite the month of July, from Ant Man and the Wasp releasing, to James Gunn being fired, to acquiring 20th Century Fox, and it just keeps getting better for The Mouse.

Rotten Tomatoes released a video this afternoon in which Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson announced that production has officially begun on the Jungle Cruise movie! As someone who loves the Disney Parks, I couldn’t be more excited for a movie based on one of the most iconic rides out there, and seeing the Rock dressed in his best skipper outfit was phenomenal. The video looks to be shot in the jungle, and showcases both Blunt’s and Johnson’s costumes for the movie.

The film, set to be released in October of 2019, will star Johnson and Blunt, along with Edgar Ramirez and Jack Whitehall, and will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows). Currently, that’s all we know about the film, as Disney likes to keep things under lock and key.
