Disney’s Peyton Elizabeth Lee Being Considered For Cassandra Cain in ‘Birds of Prey’?

News for Cathy Yan and Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey seem to be heating up lately. We got word the other day from Umberto Gonzalez with The Wrap that Batman villain Black Mask would be making his onscreen debut in the film. We have also heard that WB has several actresses on their wish list to play Huntress and Black Canary. Some of the names being mentioned are Alexandra Daddario, Blake Lively, and Vanessa Kirby who is hot off her performance in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. None of the names mentioned are confirmed by Warner Bros. at this time and no official word has come from any of the trades that they are in talks. Today we an add another name to the list of actresses being considered but this time it is for Cassandra Cain. Reputable Twitter user @danielrpk has posted that Andi Mack actress, Peyton Elizabeth Lee is on the list of potential actresses being looked at to the play the role.

Peyton fits the age range they are looking for but Daniel even mentions that this is a rumor right now. Peyton shares screen time on Andi Mack with Asher Angel who is playing young Billy Batson in DC’s Shazam! which is set to debut next year. even though this is a RUMOR, it does make sense that she would be considered. She fits the age and she has a working relationship with Asher who possibly gave her a high recommendation.  Outside of Andi Mack, Peyton really does not have a long resume in Hollywood so she would be relatively unknown to a lot of people outside of Hollywood. I think she could really pull off the character and we do not know much about the plot when it comes to her other than the Birds of Prey being on a mission to rescue her. In the comics Cain is very well trained and has even beaten Batman in combat. Might we see that version of Cain or will she not be the trained combatant we are used to in the comics?

How do you feel about this news? Do you think Peyton would be a great fit as Cassandra Cain or should the role go to someone else? Leave us a comment below.
