Does Marvel Have A Thunderbolts and Black Knight Film Planned?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”21665″ img_size=”792×468″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The biggest question is how will Kevin Feige and Marvel continue past Endgame? People grew up with these characters and the stories that were being told, so how can Marvel recapture that magic.  We already know Black Panther 2, Dr. Strange 2, Shang-Chi, and a Black Widow solo film (presumably before all Avengers film) will be part of the next phase, but it seems that Marvel is discussing the possibility of adding Black Knight to the mix.

According to a twitter user that goes by the handle ‘Roger Wardell’ he tweets what Kevin Feige plans are for a ‘New Avengers’:

The Black Knight created by Roy Thomas and John Buscema. He is “the carrier of a cursed magical sword that has been passed down since the days of King Arthur, Whitman’s Uncle passed the sword onto him in hopes he could regain the family’s honor after his Uncle had used the powers of the Black Knight for evil.” In the comics, Black Knight and Dr. Strange have some interactions that can we hopefully see on the big screen. In the comics, Doctor Strange took the Black Knight’s body with him to his Sanctum Sanctorum, hoping to someday reverse the curse. Eventually, Strange managed to contact the Black Knight’s spirit, lost in a nameless dimension, but the message was warped by Dormammu to force the Defenders and the Avengers to compete for the Evil Eye, a powerful mystic object that Strange was led to believe would be the Knight’s only salvation. In fact, Dormammu succeeded in using the Eye to nearly destroy the universe before being defeated, and the Eye couldn’t help the Black Knight, as his spirit had traveled to the Twelfth Century during the time of the Crusades.

The other tidbit of news is about a Thunderbolts film:

This is interesting because we see that Zemo will be still involved in the MCU for years, and the thought of Abomination returning is intriguing news. It makes you wonder if they are hinting at giving a Hulk solo film another chance or are they just using Abomination as for another team-up film. The Thunderbolts were formed by Zemo and Samuel Sterns (goes by The Leader) worked for a chemical plant in a menial capacity. While moving radioactive materials into an underground storage area, some of the radioactive materials explode, bombarding Sterns with gamma radiation. He recovers, and finds that the radiation has changed him from an ordinary human into a green-skinned, super-intelligent entity with an over-sized brain housed in a towering cranium. The particular set of characteristics Sterns acquired by exposure to it were said to result from a subconscious desire; in his case, the desire to be as smart as his brother Philip, who was a physicist in the employ of the same facility. Calling himself the Leader, Sterns embarks on various ambitious criminal schemes.

This is interesting because The Leader already appeared in the MCU during ‘The Icredible Hulk’ film. In this film, he is a university professor trying to help Bruce Banner to find a cure for his transformations, while operating under the alias of “Mr. Blue”. After turning Emil Blonsky into the Abomination, some of Hulk’s blood drips into an open head wound causing his cranium to rapidly expand as he grins maniacally.

Sounds like Marvel is planning to use old villians that were introduced MCU early while introducing new characters and expanding the universe. Let’s see where this leads, but let us know in the comments how you feel about these rumors.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
