[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”15376″ img_size=”700×402″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]What can I say about Doom Patrol besides WOW! What a way to kick off the first season for sure. DC brings us their version of Guardians of the Galaxy – minus the whole space thing – but way darker and a lot more dysfunctional in the best of ways. We meet the “good guys” Robotman (Brendan Fraser) with his backstory taking us through his time as a big shot NASCAR driver that leads up to his current situation.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”12147″ img_size=”400×611″][vc_column_text]Elasti-Girl (April Bowlby) as a fomer big time actress, Negative Man (Matt Bomer) as a former pilot.[/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=”12145,12146″ img_size=”400×611″ speed=”3000″ autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][vc_column_text]We then meet Crazy Jane played by Diane Guerrero[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”12148″ img_size=”400×611″][vc_column_text]All of these crazy misfits have been brought together and fixed in some way by the Chief (Timothy Dalton). Then right when you think you’ve seen the team round itself out we get our first look at DC Universe’s Cyborg (Joivan Wade) who seems experienced as a hero but is still trying to find his own identity.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”12144″ img_size=”400×611″][vc_single_image image=”12149″ img_size=”400×611″][vc_column_text]Doom Patrol gives you everything you might want from a show including humor, heart, action that is a ton of fun. This show does not lack individuality and personality, it sets out very early to show you it is not a show for kids, much like Titans is not kids. Doom Patrol is a very adult show complete with nudity. With all that being said the absolute standout is Mr. Nobody, the villain of the show, played Alan Tudyk. Alan is a delight bringing in his classic humor along with his great acting.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”15418″ img_size=”600×300″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]So if you were on the fence after Titans and unsure about whether or not this show is one to watch, allow me to clear that up for you and tell you this is not something you want to miss. Grab your popcorn and prepare for a new take on the superhero world that we feel you will come away very pleased with. Congrats to DC and after the success of Titans and Young Justice, you officially have another hit on your hands.
*We got to screen the first episode so we cannot review the entire season for you but we will make sure to bring you more reviews as the season rolls out.
