Dr. Loomis Will Cameo in ‘Halloween’ but It’s Not What You Think

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Ever since Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 released in theaters back in 2009 I have been patiently waiting for another Halloween. There were talks of a 3D Halloween and a direct sequel to Zombie’s film without the director being attached, but of course none of those ever came to be. Then we got word that David Gordon Green and Danny McBride had come up with a story for them film. The script was so good that even Halloween creator John Carpenter got on board. Casting began and we got word that Jamie Lee Curtis (Laurie Strode) would return to Haddonfield as well as the original man behind the mask, Nick Castle.  At Comic Con, David Gordon Green indicated that we would see other original cast members but he they couldn’t talk about that right now.  Fans have speculated if they somehow would be able to fit Dr. Loomis in, a role originally played by Donald Pleasence and also played by Malcolm McDowell in the Rob Zombie versions.  Pleasence died in 1995 and I highly doubt Malcolm would come back to portray the role since this film picks up after the original and ignores all other entries.

Today though we learned from David Gordon Green while speaking with Yahoo! That Dr. Loomis will be making a cameo in the film but it will only be a voice cameo and it will not be Donald or Malcolm but instead a voice impersonator who will mimic Donald’s voice.

“We have a Donald Pleasence soundalike, Because obviously he’s no longer with us, but having someone that could mimic his voice was a fun challenge. And we nailed it, I think. If I do say so myself. And then there’s a couple other nods to the past films. There’s a vocal cameo you may or may not notice till the end credits.”

How does this news make you feel? Are you excited that Dr. Loomis will be making a contribution to the film even if it is in a vocal role only? Leave us a comment below with your thoughts.
