Dwayne Johnson Says Hobbs & Shaw Will Have “the Biggest Showdown” in Fast & Furious Franchise

Hobbs & Shaw is Fast and Furious’s first spinoff movie, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham. As this movie is gaining for attention, Johnson posted a pic on Instagram teasing the biggest showdown ever seen in the Fast and Furious franchise, which is seemingly pulling a lot of inspiration from Samoan culture. Check it out!

What the actual scene will be, we only have a glimpse. But considering this is a series to have cars flying out of building, it will be interesting to see what goes into this “biggest showdown”.

Johnson’s Samoan heritage was worked into the franchise when it his daughter on screen performed the Haka dance during a soccer game to intimidate the opponents. This continuation of Samoan culture is nice to see integrated into mainstream Hollywood, with actors such as Johnson and Jason Momoa (Aquaman) bringing positive representation to the masses.

We’ll have to see how Hobbs & Shaw fairs out in comparison to the bigger franchise, which has wrapped production. Hobbs & Shaw hits theaters July 26th of this year.
