[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”17789″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Despite The Rock not making his DCEU debut in Shazam as Black Adam, as we had thought he would a while ago, there seems to be some slight traction to the Black Adam solo movie. Which, is certainly a conundrum considering that Dwayne Johnson had been attached to play this role since 2007 and even was reaffirmed in 2014. But, still no Johnson.
Now, according to We Got This Covered and Reddit, we’re finding out that Johnson will appear in a Shazam! movie, but not the second one. The sequel will already have a main villain, who apparently is set up in the first one, but we’re hearing that Black Adam will have a showdown with Shazam in the third movie, after Johnson is set to appear in the solo Black Adam film.
As for the Black Adam solo film, a post on DCEU Leaks indicates that it will follow the story arc of The Dark Age. Of course coming from Reddit you have to take everything with a grain of salt but we reached out to a trusted source who confirmed this is the arc the movie wants to adapt. That Hashtag Show reported earlier that Hawkman, Stargirl and Atom Smasher may appear in the film, but considering there’s no real word as to when production is set to begin, all of this could change.
Sounds like a nice trilogy is shaping up for Shazam all culminating with a final showdown with Black Adam. The Black Adam solo film also seems to be something terrific in the making with the inclusion of the JSA and Hawkman. If you’re not familiar with The Dark Age arc I suggest you try to find a copy and get familiar with it. It’s some of the best storytelling in the DC Universe.
What do you think of this news? Of course until it’s confirmed we should take it with a grain of salt but I’m hyped for sure. Drop us a comment below and let us know what you think.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
