Edgar Wright On a Shortlist to Replace Danny Boyle for Bond 25

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”3831″ img_size=”900×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It was a big shock when it was announced that Danny Boyle was leaving Bond 25, potentially setting back the movie’s release date to 2020. Boyle was really liked for the role, so now what? Among the group of those who could replace Boyle, Edgar Wright is on a shortlist of those who could take over Daniel Craig’s last Bond movie. The film director most known for the exciting 2017 heist movie Baby Driver could possibly direct the new 007 film, which makes me wonder what a James Bond movie will look like under his creativity.

Wright has been in a similar position as Boyle, as Wright was originally meant to direct the first Ant-Man film. While his style for the likes of Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and even Baby Driver would have went well with a Scott Lang centered film, Wright ultimately stepped away due to creative differences. With brilliant minds, there are often clashes that cannot be resolved and it’s better to step away from the project. The question is, will it be worth it to bring Wright in just to have this happen again.

Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are hoping to find a replacement within the next sixty days so they could keep the original air date of November 8, 2019. Who the new director will be is anyone’s guess![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
