This season of The Flash seems pretty stacked cast wise and we will even comes complete with a new suit for Grant Gustin but will also see Keiynan Lonsdale’s Wally West take a very reduced role. One of the recurring cast members, Hartley Sawyer (Elongated Man), has not only been promoted to series regular but we will see him offer more than just his special abilities. The Flash showrunner Todd Helbing spoke to Newsarama about Hartley’s role this season and how he will be using his detective skills more:
“Ralph is going to be doing a lot more detecting this year than he did last season, and I think the description of Elongated Man was that he has the detective skills that rivals Batman’s.”
That is some high praise from Todd considering Batman has always been known as “The World’s Greatest Detective”. The showrunner also spoke about digging deeper into his backstory and personal life during the season:
We have a lot of investigative stories to tell; we obviously want to get to Sue Dibny at some point.
