EVIL DEAD: Sam Raimi Says He Would Love To Make Another Film

The remake would go on to gross $97.5 million on a budget of $17 million and there have been talks of a sequel. Recently though Sam Raimi himself has confirmed he would love to make another Evil Dead film. Speaking with Bloody Disgusting, the director had this to say

“I’d love to make another one. I don’t think TV is in its future but we’re talking about – Bruce, Rob, and myself – one or two different ways to go for the next movie, We’d like to make another Evil Dead feature and in fact we’re working on some ideas right now.”

The need and want for another Evil Dead film is still out there despite over a year ago Starz cancelling their Evil Dead series, Ash vs Evil Dead. After the series was cancelled, Bruce Campbell confirmed he was hanging up his chainsaw and would no longer play the character Ash.

“I’d be perfectly fine if they find some young Ash, do some new incarnation, let some other poor bastard get covered in blood”

Bruce would also go on to say there are other characters they could use from the franchise and they could even use Dana DeLorenzo’s Kelly Maxwell and Ray Santiago’s Pablo Simon Bolivar in a new film.

“I hope there are very many variations of Evil Dead. You’ve got the leftover characters from the series, you’ve got the characters from the remake that we did a few years ago. You can intersect universes.”

Fede Alvarez who directed the 2013 remake says he would do another one only if the script was right. Could him and Raimi collaborate on a future film or could we see a sequel to Raimi’s Evil Dead 2 in the future?
