The Flash film might be one of the most snake bit films in development for DC. It has seen three different directors leave the project or forced to leave. After Zack Snyder left, then Ben Affleck, and presumably Henry Cavill, many wondered who from the original DCEU cast would be left. We know Gal and Jason are safe as both have had hit movies that both are getting sequels. Cyborg with Ray Fisher seems dead in the water for now as well.
Ezra has maintained that he would reprise his role in his own film and has been working with comic writer Grant Morrison on their own script for the Flash. It was recently reported that IT director Andy Muschietti has agreed to direct the film. Ezra recently spoke about his upcoming projects which he said were confirmed and one of those films is indeed The Flash film
“Well, I’ll tell you the ones that I can tell you about because they’re absolutely confirmed are Fantastic Beasts 3, The Flash movie, I’m making more music with Sons of an Illustrious Father — the band I’m in — and I’m also making some music on my own which will be sort of a new project, a solo project.”
Andy and Ezra are both busy for now but hopefully we will see movement on the Flash film soon. Andy is doing press for IT: Chapter Two which opens on September 5. WB seems to have found success in hiring horror directors to take on their comic films. James Wan’s Aquaman scored a billion dollar box office and David Sandberg’s Shazam! raked in $365M on a $100M budget. Will WB and DC find success with Andy?…time will tell.
Will the Flash movie happen or is Andy just another long list of directors that will leave the project? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
