When the Marvel Netflix universe was going strong, I was a strong advocate in getting actor Pablo Schreiber involved in one of the shows. But, now that the Defenders-verse is gone, so is the chance of Schreiber playing someone within the Marvel universe in those series. But, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t many possibilities for the actor, if he chose to be in the MCU or if the studio even approached him. Let’s just say that both the studio and Schreiber all for it, I believe Kraven the Hunter would be a perfect role for him to slip into.
For a brief description as to who Kraven the Hunter is, he is one of Spider-Man’s enemies and a frequent, formidable one. For Spider-Man: Far From Home, there are plenty of villains who will be there, such as Michael Keaton’s Vulture and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio (even though he’s being promoted as an ally). While this means that we’d most likely have to wait a while for Kraven the Hunter to pop up in another Spider-Man sequel, if they chose to do a third one; it doesn’t mean he couldn’t pop up somewhere else. This is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the studio doesn’t have to be tied down to only put villains with their typical heroes.
In one story, Kraven was hired to track down Black Panther and capture him, and since it’s not been announced when Black Panther 2 will begin production, there is plenty of time to get Schreiber involved. Just a suggestion.
Now, let’s get into why Schreiber would be a good choice to play such an imposing villain. Frankly, Schreiber is a beast. At 6’5″, he is incredibly well-built, and would be able to perform the necessary choreography that would go into what would be, no doubt; some epic fight scenes. When you have a character called Kraven the Hunter, you expect him to be large and threatening, which Schreiber can be, considering he has a long list of roles under his belt that required him to play such a character.
Not only that, Schreiber is a fantastic actor. You’ve known him from Orange in the New Black, his arc as William Lewis on Law & Order: SVU, Den of Thieves, Thumper, and American Gods. Each role, the actor has submersed himself into and made it completely believable that one man can portray so many different characters. The point is, he could certainly give us a great live-action Kraven the Hunter.
For your consideration, Marvel Studios!
