Felicity Huffman has wasted no time in nabbing a new project. According to the LA Times, Huffman will star in a comedy pilot for ABC. The half-hour TV show is untitled so far. But, we do know Huffman will play “the unlikely owner of a minor-league baseball team that she inherited after her husband’s death”.
Zack Gottsagen of the Peanut Butter Falcon will co-star as Huffman’s oldest son. He’s described as a baseball fanatic who has Down Syndrome. The series will be based on the life of Susan Savage. Susan Savage was the owner of the Triple A World Champion Sacramento River Cats. Huffman will also be the EP on this single-camera project.
This comes after Huffman spent 11 days in prison due to being found guilty of partaking in fraud to get her daughter into a good college. Essentially, Huffman bribed someone aka William “Rick” Singer $15,000 to change her daughter’s test score on her college entrance exam. Huffman and actress Lori Loughlin were among the famous names of the parents charged with doing the same thing – 50 others were also indicted.
Huffman had written after her sentencing:
“I accept the court’s decision today without reservation. I broke the law. I have admitted that, and I pleaded guilty to this crime. There are no excuses or justifications for my actions. Period.”
What do you think about Huffman returning to acting after her legal trouble?
