Finn Wolfhard Talks ‘IT: CHAPTER 2’

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”17008″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]These days it’s good to be Finn Wolfhard. He’s not only starring in the very popular Stranger Things as it approaches its Season 3 NetFlix Premier on July 4th, he’s also a part of Stephen King’s IT reboot. The second part of the story, It: Chapter 2 will premier in theaters on September 6th. In a recent interview with Comicbook.Com, Wolfhard explained his approach to his work, despite their popularity.

It’s really cool when the thing you are working on as a small team gets embraced by millions, but in the end, it’s about your character and the script and your director and the rest of the cast and crew. So for me, nothing changes in terms of my approach to the characters or the universe they’re in.

In Stephen King’s IT novel, the story tells about a group of childhood friends who face off against an otherworldly threat that appears in the form of a clown. Pennywise, as he is known, endangers the town of Derry, Maine. forcing the friends to engage with the entity not only as teens, but also 27 years later when the threat emerges once again. Chapter one in the film dealt with the children’s story while Chapter Two will embrace the now adult children’s encounter with the fiendish Pennywise. As far as Wolfhard’s role as Richie Tozer, the adult Richie will be handled by Bill Hader, much to the acceptance of Wolfhard who was asked if he offered Hader any suggestions for his character.

Bill is a genius and I certainly wouldn’t give him any advice unless he asked. But we had some great discussions on set when our days were overlapping. He’s obviously a great impressionist and mimic and I actually can’t wait to see the film to see what he’s done with adult Richie.
