First ‘Aquaman’ TV Spot Debuts!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The first television spot for Aquaman was released earlier today, and while it is very similar to the trailer released at San Diego Comic Con, it does have some new images, primarily involving Mera and Arthur. Personally, it’s exciting whenever I start seeing TV spots, just because it means the movie is getting closer and closer. And while the trailer itself was epic, the TV spot isn’t anything to look down on either. You get a lot better views of the oceans and see how big of a role they’re going to play in the movie in the TV spot, since it’s just a minute long and really it’s only job is spark your interest for the movie.

The footage seen isn’t really a ton of new stuff. You get the bit with Arthur boarding the submarine, some Black Manta footage, the fight between Arthur and Orm, and the same clip of Arthur and Mera jumping out of a helicopter. One of my favorite scenes from the trailer was the scene with younger Arthur at the aquarium, and it’s nice to see the TV spot is showing a bit from that scene as well. All in all, if you’ve seen the trailer, you’ve seen the majority of the TV spot.

However, while it is slim, there was some additional things seen here that wasn’t seen in the trailer. The biggest addition by far was seeing Mera in her green suit in actual footage instead of a picture. While the picture that surfaced earlier made her suit look dark green, it’s nice to see the green is a lot closer to the comic books than we first saw. We also get a quick glimpse of the King’s true trident, which looks super badass and will most likely play a good sized role in the film. Another new addition is the oceanic beast that looked like a hybrid between a whale and a shark there at the end fighting against what looked to be one of Black Manta’s henchmen. We see some more shots of Arthur’s battle with his brother, Orm the Ocean Master including Arthur’s “we call it an ass whooping” line.

All in all, the TV spot looks great, just like the trailer did and I can’t wait for the film! What did you think? Did you like the TV spot? Are you excited for the movie? Let us know below in the comments!
