First Images and Story Details From Ghostbusters: Afterlife Released

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”32816″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife film is set to debut it’s first trailer on Monday but the folks over at Vanity Fair got some first glimpse images and some story details from the director himself.

The film will center around a single mother Callie (Carrie Coon) and her two children Phoebe (McKenna Grace) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard). The events of 1984 which is being called the ‘Manhattan Crossrip’ will play a key role in the film as well. The Crossrip is the event which saw the four original Ghostbsuters take on Gozer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Callie and the kids move to Oklahoma after inheriting property from her father.  Reitman does not give much away as to who the identity of the characters are but does say

“As the family arrives at an old farm, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters, Trevor and Phoebe are about to find out who their grandfather was and whether they’re ready to pick up the proton pack themselves.”

It is on this farm that the family finds Ecto-1 and the tools of the Ghostbusters. Paul Rudd will be portraying Mr. Grooberson, the summer school teacher. Grooberson was just a boy when the events of 1984 happened and he has been obsessing over ever since.

Hopefully more will be revealed on Monday but for now enjoy the first images from the brand new movie and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.[/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=”32818,32817,32815″ img_size=”800×450″ speed=”3000″ autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
