Freddy vs Jason Screenwriters Want To Do a Sequel

Freddy vs Jason hit theaters in 2003, bringing two heavyweights in the horror movie genre together. Since then, we haven’t gotten a film that pins the two together – or even any two horror movie figures. Freddy vs Jason costs $30 million to make and earned $116.6 million. You would think this would cause the studio heads to want to rush on a sequel, but alas, we don’t have one.

Might we, though? Freddy vs Jason screenwriters Damian Shannon and Mark Swift have revealed that they would want to still produce a sequel.

Both were asked about the plot of a potential second film and what would be in store if Pinhead were to appear. The response was:

“Not gonna tell you as we still want to get it made!”

They did add, though:

“We would always love to do another one. But it’s always good to get fresh eyes on the material, no? We’ve had our day. We’ve written for Jason more than any other writer, I think. Let someone new come in and give it fresh blood!”

It should also be said that while the new Halloween movie has sort of recharged the horror movie monster genre, Robert Englund has revealed that he only has about one Freddy movie in him. Though, it would be cool if his last Freddy outing would be in a Freddy vs Jason sequel.

Would you want to see a sequel to Freddy vs Jason?
