It’s no secret that game developers get inspiration from all sorts of sources. History is one of them and they have made certain games that lets players take an active role in historical events and periods. Some of them are RPGs while others are strategy games, but both kinds are amazing titles. So, if you’re looking to back in time with some games, then here are some game franchises inspired by history:

    The Red Dead Redemption Franchise

The Wild West is a period that’s immortalized and romanticized in many TV shows and movies, but they have inspired many games as well. The Red Dead Redemption franchise is one of them and you’ll be put in the shoes of a cowboy and see what the Wild West has to offer. You can go from town to town completing missions or you can pop into a saloon for a round of poker.

Poker was a prominent game back in those days, and it’s a popular game today. Most players enjoy it online at many online casinos. Sites like uudetkasinot.com come with many sites that offer variants of this popular casino table game as well as other table games, slots, and live titles. The main thing about them is to enjoy them and their games responsibly.

You can even cheat in the RDR franchise, but if you’re caught then get ready for a fight. The immersive graphics give you the brutal Wild West that history has recorded.

    The Age of Empires Franchise

This is a franchise made up of several strategy games that give you a general’s point of view. You’ll get to take care of the logistics for various nations through various periods of history. In other words, you’ll get to tell workers or peasants to chop wood, grow food on farms, hunt, craft buildings, and more. You’ll get to create your army soldier by soldier or knight by knight and advance through various stages in society. This way you’ll upgrade your weapons and armor, and get access to better technology so you can advance your settlements. The third game explores the early modern period, whereas the previous titles focus on the Stone and Iron Age, and Medieval period.

    The Assassin’s Creed Franchise

This is a popular franchise that’s based on various historical periods. It’s an RPG franchise that lets you climb any building you set your eyes on. Moreover, you’ll get to see the Third Crusade, Ancient Egypt, Italy during the Renaissance, the Liberation of America, the Seven Years’ War, and more through the eyes of various characters. You’ll even get to meet some historical figures such as Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Richard Lionheart, Leonardo Da Vinci, Captain James Cook, and others.

You’ll play as members of both the Assassin and Templar orders which existed at a time in history but made it to modern society for the sake of the franchise. Nevertheless, you can pick a period and you can enjoy the vivid portrayal that the AC franchise has to offer. Regardless if you’re a history fan or not, these are amazing games.
