‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel Filming Has Begun

As we leave Game of Thrones in the rear view mirror we can still look back (carefully) and see the carnage that was Season 8 behind us. Fortunately, we can also look forward to the prequel. According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, it is revealed that the filming for the pilot has begun. Like it’s predecessor, it too is being filmed in Northern Ireland.

S.J. Clarkson is directing the pilot which was written by Jane Goldman and is based on a story by her and George R.R. Martin. The cast includes Naomi Watts, Josh Whitehouse and Naomi Ackie. Considering this is a Game of Thrones story, there is of course, a sizable supporting cast. However, if it’s anything like the original, it remains to be seen how many of them actually survive the pilot.

From previous announcements, we know the prequel is set thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones. It is said to chronicle the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes. It will turn into  their darkest hour.

Are you ready to see the prequel for Game of Thrones with the hopes that it washes the bad after taste of Season 8 from your palate? Share your aspirations for the pilot with us at GVNation.
