I’m pretty sure I have made it clear that I am a fan of the old NBC television series Buck Rogers and the 25th Century. One only needs to read our review of the series Blu-Ray version to know that. I always kind of figured that an adaptation of the character was possible. Especially knowing that Hollywood LOVES to reboot, adapt, and refit old properties.
Now we know that Legendary has plans to develop a prestige limited series of the character that is being written by Brian K. Vaughan. The plans include launching a film and an anime off-shoot if the initial series is a success. Now, a recent addition to the producing team has now added some juice to the potential property.
George Clooney along with his Smokehouse partner Grant Heslov have signed on to executive produce the project. In addition, there is the talk of Buck Rogers being developed as a potential starring vehicle for the actor. However, at this time, no acting deals have been made negotiated for the performer.
Would you like to see Buck Rogers make a comeback? Does George Clooney’s participation add credibility to the property? Share your thoughts with us at Geek Vibes Nation.
