With DC’s Death of Superman completed, DC is ramping up for it’s next animated adaptation, bringing The Reign of the Supermen for fans to enjoy. A recent addition to the voice cast has experience in the DC universe as Gotham’s very own Cameron Monaghan will be providing the voice of SuperBoy in the upcoming animated movie. Gotham fans know Monaghan as Jerome, though he’s recently transitioned fully into basically Gotham’s version of the Joker heading into the final season.
Monaghan posted the news on his Instagram account with the caption #ReignOfTheSupermen and two images. The Superman symbol on a black background, and a sketch of the character’s design from the upcoming film. If you watched the Death of Superman on digital, you might have seen a small Reign of the Supermen featurette in the bonus features.
For those unfamiliar, after DC’s “The Death of Superman“, four Superman-themed characters replaced him. It is this storyline which was entitled: “Reign of the Supermen”, which ran through Action Comics and other Superman titles (June – October 1993) that this 2nd movie is based.
Does the addition of Monaghan make this a must see movie or just some more icing on the cake? Let us at Geek Vibes Nation hear what you have to say.
The Reign of the Supermen, will arrive early in 2019.
