Gotham’s Fifth Season Will Feature Batman, Actor Says

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9933″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]While we gear up for the final season of Gotham, many may wonder if we’ll ever see the Caped Crusader. After all, the show’s premise is a young Bruce Wayne and his life before he became Batman, but who doesn’t want to actually see the vigilante at least once in the show? According to actor Cameron Monaghan, who has played Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska, we will see Batman show up in the fifth season!

At this year’s most recent New York Comic Con, showrunner John Stephens and Bruce Wayne actor David Mazouz even spoke about the introduction of the Batman character:

“Oh yes. David, do you want to speak about that?” – John Stephens said.

“Bruce is going to meet his first bat! It’s pretty awesome.” – Mazouz.

Gotham has not only showed us the path that has brought Wayne to becoming Batman, but also Jim Gordon’s journey to becoming one of the most well-known characters in the Batman franchise. Gordon actor Benjamin McKenzie talked about the season four finale and how this will affect the character going into the fifth season:

“He is going to be the last guy down with the ship. He’s never going to abandon it. I think that the pressure becomes more and more and more intense and he becomes a bit like Atlas, trying to carry the- well not quite literal but the figurative weight of the world on his shoulders. The pressure just gets more and more intense. Which is interesting because it can lead him to make decisions he wouldn’t otherwise make, which there’s a big one in the middle of the season. A decision he makes in the heat of passion that will have significant ramifications for him and others in the future.”

Gotham will premiere on Fox on January 3, 2019.
