Greenland’s Gerard Butler Talks About a Fourth Fallen Film and a Sequel to Den of Thieves

We have a two for one news article for Gerard Butler fans. Butler recently spoke with EW while promoting his upcoming disaster film Greenland. I would like to point out, before anything, that Ric Roman Waugh directed Greenland and his films Snitch and Shot Caller are criminally underrated.

Back to Butler. Who gave an update on the Angel has Fallen franchise:

“I think with everything going on, we need him [Mike Banning]. He needs to come back. Yeah, I think you will be seeing another. We’re toying away with another really fantastic idea that we’re working on at the moment that obviously we can’t say too much about.”

Butler also gave an update on a Den of Thieves sequel – which was a great crime drama film in 2018. Where Butler played the most corrupt cop you can think of. I will say, though; [spoilers] a Den of Thieves sequel without Pablo Schreiber’s character (who – spoiler alert – died in the first film) might be a no-go for me.

Seriously, though; it is cool that Butler revealed a new script being written for a Den of Thieves sequel:

“We’re working on that script at the moment, and I’m getting pages daily from Christian. It’s a fun ride, spreading across North America into Europe and the diamond district of Marseilles. It’s very cool and has a more European vibe this time. All the fun characters, Big Nick, Donnie, and Lobbin’ Bob [Jordan Bridges], will be back. And I’m really excited about it.”

Greenland hits theaters on August 14th of this year. What do you think about a fourth Fallen film and a sequel to Den of Thieves?
