Unexpected GTA 6 Gameplay Clip Surfaces Ahead of Netflix Showcase

An unexpected GTA 6 gameplay clip has surfaced just ahead of the Netflix showcase.

A short piece of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay has leaked online just days before Rockstar’s planned official reveal, offering fans an unusual first look at the game in action.

The one-minute-and-nine-second video, titled simply “basketball,” shows co-protagonist Jason at his beachside home. He leans on a deck railing, knocks over some props, jumps down to the driveway, picks up a basketball, and spends most of the clip practicing mid-range jump shots. The sequence ends with the ball bouncing down a boat ramp and into the marina.

The footage appears to come from a late-stage development build. It is presented in 720p resolution and lacks on-screen button prompts. While the dribbling looks solid for a non-sports title, some transitions show the ball clipping through Jason’s model or snapping oddly into his hands, suggesting the build is not yet fully polished.

    A Puzzling Leak

The clip carries a watermark and QR code linked to a group calling itself Cyberleek, along with a message inviting viewers to see more. No additional footage from the same source has appeared so far.

Given Rockstar’s history of ambitious open-world detail, the presence of a functional basketball mini-game hints that other sports and activities could be fully playable throughout the city. Still, the mundane nature of the leaked moment has left many players amused at how understated the first extended gameplay glimpse turned out to be.

    Official Reveal Still Coming

Rockstar has scheduled a major extended look at GTA 6 for August 27. The presentation will air exclusively on Netflix for six hours before receiving a wider online release. With the game currently set to launch on November 19, 2026, the upcoming showcase is expected to deliver a far more substantial view of the finished product.

This latest leak continues a long pattern of unauthorized material emerging during GTA 6’s development, including a large set of early-build videos that circulated in 2022. While the new basketball footage offers a small taste of the game’s interactivity, the full official reveal next week should still hold plenty of surprises.
