“The timeline has been pushed out,” was the response when asked about the breaking news. Disney for its part never set a release date for Guardians 3.
With both fan support and possibly millions of dollars at stake, Marvel and Disney are taking a measured approach in their search for a filmmaker. One source says that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi recently had a meeting with Marvel but it is unclear what project was discussed.
As most fans know, the controversial firing has upset the cast which in an open letter, asked the studio to reconsider and reinstate Gunn. Dave Bautista, who plays the alien warrior Drax, has continued to vocalize his disappointment on social media. In fact, on Thursday he tagged Disney in a tweet which featured disturbing clips of Mike Cernovich, who was one of the conservative figures who led a campaign to get Gunn fired.
Disney had no comment on this story.
As much as this might have been expected, are you disappointed about these delays or are you maintaining hope that things will eventually get worked out and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will make its way to the theater? Share your opinions at GVNation.
